New versions of gui open to a black window unless renamed

When updating to a newer version of the GUI, it opens to a black screen if a previous version has been installed before. A workaround exists where you rename the new exe but this should be fixed.

Problem is that it's not all versions and we don't know why.

I've been unable to replicate this issue

The JS part of the gui crashes when it accesses a field that it thinks should exist, but doesn't because of old invalid save data. This should be solved with a real database that does migrations. A cheap solution to this is to just wipe localstorage with every update.
